Stage makeup evaluation


For the theatre makeup, I like the depth and detail I included as it makes the makeup much more noticeable on a medium to large sized stage for the audience to be able to see the different contour lines and the depth of the eyes. I also like the style of the makeup, such as the colours used and the style of the eye makeup. The reason I like the colours used is because the red lipstick compliments the pink pigment of the cheeks, seemingly pulling the look together, whereas if there was only colour on the lips but not on the cheeks, the rest of the makeup would seem more 'out of place'. The reason I like the style of the eye makeup is because I can clearly see how the shading of the eyeshadow really makes the eyes stand out just enough so that they aren't the main focus over the rest of the makeup.


However, I could improve how I use the cake eyeliner as I found it difficult to apply it accurately, causing the lines to be uneven and too thick on both of the eyes. I could also improve the different brushes I use for different tasks as I find myself using the same brushes over and over again, even if they still have other products on them.


This makeup is also suitable for the stage as, from the way it looked in real life, it was noticeable from far away due to the bold colours, making it suitable for a medium and small sized stage and audience. If this makeup was meant for a large stage and audience size, the contour and eye makeup would need some added pigment to make it stand out more. The makeup would also still stand out underneath the stage lights as there weren't any vibrant colours used (apart from red).

  Catwalk makeup evaluation: What I like about this look is the eye makeup. The blue watercolour smudges help to show off the eye shape alongside the white eyeliner. I also like the eye makeup as the colours compliment each other. Another aspect of this makeup I like would be the shape of the contour on the cheeks as well as how the contour on the nose has been blended. Another point to make about the makeup is that the base makeup and eye makeup would work well for the catwalk as it would stand out on camera as well as under the lighting. However, for the contour on the cheeks, I think the triangles should be bigger to help it stand out more. I also should've used false eyelashes to help them stand out more, and colour them by applying a white base colour first and then colouring them lilac as they don't show up on camera. LSOH meeting 12:

  LSOH meeting 12: 19/05/2021 The day before the production. To start off this meeting, we began by checking through the production folder together to make sure we had everything we needed in there, including face charts, makeup designs, actors headshots and skin consultation sheets. It was important we had all of this in there as it was important we knew what makeup we were doing, how we would be applying it to the actors face and which products we needed to check for and organise. This showed good organisation skills as we were checking beforehand to make sure we had everything ready for the production nights. We then took some time to work in the LRC to polish up our blogs for a little while and add in anything we may have missed; this could include: adding in any missing images and any information on what we had discussed/decided on during previous meetings.
