Presentation: peer and self review:

Presentations - peer and self evaluation:

Stephen:

During the presentation, he had clear speech and made sure to look elsewhere, rather than constantly look at the board. For the slides about the makeup looks, he evaluated them well, including explaining the looks, why he likes them and what needs improving. Stephen also went into a good amount of detail when explaining why he would / wouldn’t work in those industries. He mentioned how he would work in the red carpet / fashion photography industry as he enjoyed creating those makeup looks the most, and would also work on other kinds of makeup on the side (such as theatre looks), but wouldn’t work in the SFX industry due to the amount of CGI and greenscreen technology being used rather than makeup. He also explained the research he did for each MUA well and clearly.

Paige:

Paige demonstrated clear speech and confidence during her presentation. She also looked elsewhere, rather than constantly at the board. For the slides about the makeup looks, she provided a good evaluation about why she likes and dislikes each of the looks and how she feels about working in each industry. She mentioned how she enjoyed working on theatre looks and fashion and photography looks because of the amount of creativity and freedom they each provide. However, she stated how she prefers SFX makeup and can mostly see herself working in that industry. She also explained the research for the MUA she researched well and clearly.

Self Assessment:

For myself, I feel as though I had clear speech throughout the majority of it, however, I kept looking at the board too much rather than at anyone else. For the makeup looks, I think I evaluated them well, except for a bit of a mistake I made on the first slide when explaining if I could see myself working in that industry. I went into some detail about my likes and dislikes of each look. When talking about the MUA research I included, I think I explained it well for the most part. When I was talking about which area I want to specialize in, I went into only a small amount of detail about it.

Pantomime Dame makeup evaluation

For the pantomime dame makeup, I like the outcome of the eye makeup, the orange especially, because I like how it has been blended from dark to light. I also like the eyeliner both on the eyelid and below the eye, including the white, as it enhances the eye shape and size. However, I need to improve on being able to cover up my eyebrows and raising the drawn on ones further up my forehead as they were too far down. I also need to darken the contouring on the cheeks and the jaw. I also think I should darken the outline of the lips too as it isn’t as visible as it should be. This makeup would be suitable for a small and medium sized stage and audience as it can be seen from far enough away. The colours could also work underneath certain stage lights as they wont be blended together. edit: 23/05/2021

LSOH meeting 12:

LSOH meeting 12: 19/05/2021 The day before the production. To start off this meeting, we began by checking through the production folder together to make sure we had everything we needed in there, including face charts, makeup designs, actors headshots and skin consultation sheets. It was important we had all of this in there as it was important we knew what makeup we were doing, how we would be applying it to the actors face and which products we needed to check for and organise. This showed good organisation skills as we were checking beforehand to make sure we had everything ready for the production nights. We then took some time to work in the LRC to polish up our blogs for a little while and add in anything we may have missed; this could include: adding in any missing images and any information on what we had discussed/decided on during previous meetings. It is important to keep track of all of this as it helps us keep track of what we have all worked on throughout the produ...
