During this meeting, we discussed what we needed to complete over the next day or so to prepare for

the show. Paige and I collaborated together to create a list of tasks that needed to be completed over

the next week. This included: discussing / gathering ideas for Audrey Two’s hair. We did this by

gathering images to assemble into a moodboard of our ideas. We also needed to complete the final

face chart design. It was important to get this finished and into the folder as soon as possible as we will

need it on the night of the performance to see what products we need and the makeup design. We also

needed to complete the final design for the makeup to go into the production folder. Then, we needed

to ask the director about the changes for Audrey Two during the interval. We did this by creating a

moodboard of all of our ideas categorised into sections to better explain our ideas. Then, once we had

attended rehearsals, we needed to do a patch test for the eyelash glue on the actress. This is important

to do as, since we will be including false eyelashes into the makeup, we needed to make sure the

eyelash glue was compatible with her skin, as if it wasn’t we would need to get eyelash glue that doesn’t

contain latex. Then, we needed to ask the director about our idea for sleeves rather than painting the

arms green (for context, Tom (the director) planned for Audrey Two to have her arms painted green to

match her costume, however, Paige had deduced that using green body paint wouldn’t work for the

show as it would just smudge onto both the actors costume, and anything they touch throughout the

show. Therefore, we came up with the idea to use shoulder length gloves instead).

Once we had created the list, we went on to work through it bit by bit to make sure we didn’t miss

anything, beginning with discussing the changes. We came up with the idea of using red face and

body glitter on the lips, adding a few rhinestones onto the face and maybe adding in some fake blood.

This is to show character development during the show as Audrey Two gets bigger and bigger, the

character becomes more ‘evil’. Therefore, we had decided to use the interval as an opportunity to show

this character development through looks. Whilst planning this, we had to keep in mind that we only

had 15 minutes during the interval to apply these changes.

We then decided to gather images for a moodboard of our ideas and to gather ideas for Audrey Two’s

hairstyle. Once we had gathered and arranged these images onto the moodboard, we went to see the

rehearsal for Act 2 of the show.

Once the performance was over, Paige and I took this opportunity to do a patch test of the eyelash glue,

placing a small amount on her arm and leaving it there for 5 minutes to see if she had any sort of

reaction, to which she did not. Whilst waiting for the glue to dry, we decided to discuss the changes with

her and the director using the moodboard.

The images above show the completed moodboard Paige and I presented to the director and the

actress. We had decided not to use the gloves and to just blend the foundation across her arms. This

may affect budgeting as we may need some more foundation to be able to make this happen. We had

also decided to just stick to using the glitter and rhinestones once again as the fake blood may ruin the

appearance of her makeup under the stage lights.

Pantomime Dame makeup evaluation

For the pantomime dame makeup, I like the outcome of the eye makeup, the orange especially, because I like how it has been blended from dark to light. I also like the eyeliner both on the eyelid and below the eye, including the white, as it enhances the eye shape and size. However, I need to improve on being able to cover up my eyebrows and raising the drawn on ones further up my forehead as they were too far down. I also need to darken the contouring on the cheeks and the jaw. I also think I should darken the outline of the lips too as it isn’t as visible as it should be. This makeup would be suitable for a small and medium sized stage and audience as it can be seen from far enough away. The colours could also work underneath certain stage lights as they wont be blended together. edit: 23/05/2021

Emaciation makeup evaluation

For the emaciation makeup, I like how the makeup shows the cause of emaciations (for example: for the makeup shown in the image, I chose the cause to be an eating disorder, whereas if the cause was sickness, for example, the skin would have a greenish tone.). To improve, I should try out emaciation but make the cause different to be able to understand fully what the effect would be for different causes (such as emaciation as a result of malnourishment). Another way in which I could improve would be to make sure the shaded areas look 'evened out' and add a little bit more depth to the eyes. Considering this makeup was meant for screen, it would have needed to be a bit more subtle on the cheekbones, as the makeup appears to be too obvious. I would also have had to add some shading to the neck to show how other areas of the body are affected by this disorder. Edit: 23/05/2021

One colour challenge evaluation

Instagram one colour challenge evaluation: What I like about this look is the way I have coloured the eyebrows. Before applying the blue colour itself, I used colour corrector and concealer to lighten the eyebrows so that the blue will show up better on the hairs. I also like the contour of this look as I think it has been blended out nicely. However, I don’t like the eyeshadow as although I tried to use three different colours of blues on the eyes, they all look like just one colour. Therefore, to improve this look, I would use lighter variants of blue to make sure they stand out better. This also wouldn't work on photograph as the difference in the colour variants aren't bold enough in real life to show up on camera unless the photographs were taken up close. Edit: 26/02/2021
